This standard applies to the dimensions and designation of ports with pipe thread according to DIN EN ISO 228-1 and O-ring seal on pipe fittings, valves and screw plugs for stud ends with metal sealing edge (form B) according to DIN EN ISO 1179-4. It contains the specifications for the design with pipe thread for connections not sealing in the thread according to DIN EN ISO 228-1. The ports do not correspond to those of DIN EN ISO 1179-1. Ports according to this part of DIN 3852 may be used for a maximum permissible working pressure of 25 MPa (250 bar) with suitable stud ends and O-ring. The maximum permissible pressure depends, among other things, on the size of the port, the materials, the design, the operating conditions and the application. The stud ends used according to DIN EN ISO 1179-4 shall be selected according to the purpose. The ports of fitting according to this part of DIN 3852 are intended for use in gas and water installations as well as in installations for liquid fuels and water-polluting liquids. They are not intended for use in pneumatic or hydraulic power transmission installations.
