This standard applies to BA backflow preventer in accordance with DIN EN 12729 for temporary connection to potable water supply in accordance with DIN EN 805 and DVGW W 400-3 outside buildings for removal at hydrants, standpipes and removal devices according to DVGW W 408 and DIN 2001-2, for example at events, construction sites and maintenance sites to secure the potable water supply in accordance with DIN EN 1717. For operation and maintenance DIN EN 806-5 shall be observed in addition to the manufacturer's documentation. This standard applies to BA backflow preventer with a nominal pressure of PN 10. This standard does not apply to the water for firefighting sector at DIN Standards Committee Firefighting and Fire Protection (FNFW). This standard has been prepared by Working Committee NA 003-02-02 AA "Armaturen für die Trinkwasserinstallation in Gebäuden" ("Valves for potable water supply in buildings").
