This standard applies for beach sports equipment installed in or on sand, which is intended for use in gymnasiums or outdoors and includes a goal and playing equipment involving baskets or nets. Beach sports equipment is equipment that is installed in or on sand, which includes either a goal or playing equipment involving baskets or nets. The equipment can be freely accessible or not freely accessible, and can be permanently or temporarily installed and used for all types of application (for instance, competitions, training sessions). This standard specifies requirements on the safety of the equipment itself and its installation, inspection and maintenance; obstacles and local environmental conditions (for instance, streets, parking spaces, fences) are however excluded. This standard is not applicable for playground equipment in accordance with DIN EN 1176-1, for multi-sports equipment in accordance with DIN EN 15312 or exercise trails. Beach sports equipment in accordance with this standard is not intended for small children under 36 months of age.
