DIN 32869-3:2012-06

This standard defines the parameters for the complete description of selected features for three-dimensional CAD-models. Intrasystem storage and representation of the data as well as derivability of technical drawings are not dealt with. Many programs for computer-aided design permit the definition of features in the context of design or processing objects. In order for a continuous and also cross-company application of these features to be possible, they shall be clearly defined in terms of their scope and appearance. The method defined in the standard for specification of features is often referred to as "Featuretechnik" ("Feature technique"). DIN 32869 consists of the following parts under the main title "Technical product documentation - Three-dimensional CAD-models": - Part 1: Requirements for representation - Part 3: Features The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN 32869-3:2002-02: a) definitions for "feature" and "parameter" have been added; b) designations in Tables 4 and 8 have been corrected; c) Radius R1 has been supplemented in 6.7, 6.11 and 6.16; d) the representation of the measure F2 has been corrected in Figure 7 of 6.7; e) for the depth of chamfer 1, angle of chamfer 2 and diameter of chamfer in 6.11, Table 11, "can be omitted" has been supplemented; f) for the point angle in 6.12, Table 12, "can be omitted" has been deleted; g) the diameter of chamfer 1 DF1 has been supplemented and the depth of chamfer 1 has been omitted in 6.13; h) the constraint > TG has been omitted for TF in Table 16; i) Figure 19 has been modified in correspondence with DIN 471; j) Figure 20 has been modified in correspondence with DIN 472; k) Figure 22 has been modified in correspondence with DIN 509; l) the standard has been editorially revised.
