DIN 28017-2:2012-04

This standard applies for the configuration and construction of railings on stationary accesses to process apparatus. As a rule they are walked on during controlling and maintenance work of these apparatus. Applicability shall be tested for enamelled, lined or coated apparatus as well as apparatus made of non-ferrous metals or plastics. The standard specifies two forms: Form A, one kneerail and Form B, two kneerails. Railings in accordance with this standard are designed for a horizontal force at the height of the hand rail of 500 N/m. DIN EN ISO 14122-3 is applicable for railings for platforms on machinery installations.
