DIN 277-1:2016-01

This document applies to the determination of base areas and room volumes in building construction during the design, construction and use of structures. It covers the base areas and room volumes of structures as well as the base areas of the building site. This document specifies terms, definitions, conceptual contents and rules for determining base areas and room volumes. It thus provides a basis for comparing buildings and properties and for determining costs in accordance with DIN 276-1 and utilization costs in accordance with DIN 18960. The areas and volumes determined in accordance with this document can also be used for other purposes (such as determining living space or rental space) and used as the basis for the necessary calculations. However, the standard does not evaluate the areas and room volumes within the meaning of the corresponding regulations. DIN EN 15221-6 applies to area measurement in facility management. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-01-04 AA "Flächen- und Raumberechnungen" ("Area and volume calculations") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NABau).
