This document has been prepared in the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP), Working Committee NA 062-07-63 "Radionuklidlaboratorien" ("Radionuclide laboratories"). This document is applicable for the design of radionuclide laboratories in which unsealed radioactive materials or also where additional sealed radioactive materials are handled. Special rooms in accordance with DIN 25425-1 are also a part of radionuclide laboratories. The purpose of this document is to specify the requirements for preventative fire protection to be supplied during planning and construction of radionuclide laboratories. Equipment in radionuclide laboratories are only mentioned in this document in so far as they shall be considered for preventative fire protection.
