The European Standards EN 14545 and EN 14592 have been available since October 2008 as harmonised European Standards and have been adopted as DIN EN 14545:2009-02 and DIN EN 14592:2009-02 into the German body of standards. This standard specifies application-related requirements for dowel-type fasteners and connectors in accordance with EN 14592 and EN 14545 that are used in structures. Since 1 August 2009, products manufactured in accordance with these standards may therewith receive a CE marking and may be traded freely within the scope of application of the Construction Products Directive. The conditions under which the construction products manufactured in accordance with EN 14545 and EN 14592 are permitted to be traded and placed on the market are provided in the notification of DIN EN 14545 and DIN EN 14592 as harmonized standards in the Federal Gazette and in the Bauregelliste B Teil 1 (Building Rules List B Part 1) as well as the corresponding annexes of the Deutsches Institut für Bautechnik (DIBt) (German Institute for Construction Technology). The regulation for use of these products remains, however, the responsibility of the member states. Therefore in Germany the use of the products may be regulated in accordance with the resolution of the NABau Advisory Council and in coordination with the Bauministerkonferenz (Conference of Building Ministers) (ARGEBAU) by using this application standard to EN 14545 and EN 14592. The standard supplements the design standard DIN EN 1995-1-1:2010-12 with National Annex DIN EN 1995-1-1/NA. DIN 20000-6 has been prepared by NABau Working Committee NA 005-04-01 AA "Holzbau" ("Timber structures").
