This standard applies to gypsum plasterboards complying with DIN EN 520. The following modifications have been made with respect to DIN 18180:2007-01: a) characteristic building material properties and design characteristics for timber structures have been introduced; b) partial safety factors γM for strength and rigidity properties in permanent and temporary design situations have been introduced; c) modification factors for strength values have been introduced; d) deformation factors subject to the service class have been introduced; e) strength and rigidity values have been introduced; f) nailed timber connections of gypsum plasterboards have been introduced. The committee responsible is Working Committee NA 005-09-10 AA "Gips und Gipsprodukte (SpA zu CEN/TC 241)" ("Gypsum and gypsum based products (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 241)") of the German Civil Engineering Standards Committee (NABau) at DIN.
