This standard applies to single, rebated and unrebated door leaves with or without top blind/panel in steel door frames according to DIN 18111-1, -2 and -3 and in wooden door frames according to DIN 68706-2. The specification of the interdependence of dimensions at the door frame and the door leave as well as the position of hinges and lock (hinge position and lock position) is intended to allow for unproblematic assembly if door frame, door leave, lock and hinges (building hardware) are delivered separately and assembled time-independently from each other at the construction site. The specification of the essential dimensions and their positions with regard to certain reference edges or reference planes ids to facilitate the assembly of the single components of a door and to allow for exchanging the door leave in a door frame without reworking. In cases of custom-made door elements, other dimensions can be used. This standard does not apply to: - external pedestrian doorsets according to DIN EN 14351-1; - pedestrian doorsets with fire resistance and/or smoke control characteristics according to DIN EN 16034; - burglar-resistant pedestrian doorsets according to DIN EN 1627; - smoke control doors according to DIN 18095-1 with general appraisal certificate (abP); - fire resistant doorsets with general technical approval (abZ). Since these doors with special requirements are to be considered as complete ready-to-mount door elements, the coordination of their dimensions rests on the manufacturer. An assembly of such doors at the construction site from single components delivered by different manufacturers is excluded in standards mentioned above. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-09-01 AA "Türen, Tore, Fenster, Abschlüsse, Baubeschläge und Vorhangfassaden (Sp CEN/TC 33 und ISO/TC 162)" ("Doors, windows, shutters, building hardware and curtain walling (Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 33 and ISO/TC 162)") at DIN.
