The aim of the standard is the description of the single-conductor connector system, its fitness for use, the requirement for the compatibility of different manufacturers and the hazards arising from this and the resulting safety requirements. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 149-00-04 AA "Licht- und Medientechnik" ("Lighting- and media technology") at DIN.
