In the first place the following fields of application are covered or the following tasks are carried out regarding GW-L2 for logistic tasks, depending on the load applied: - transport of equipment and other materials for fire fighting operations, - transport and laying of pressure hoses for water supply. According to the definition, GW-L2 is a fire fighting vehicle with fire fighting equipment, an equipment box and a loading area with hydraulic platform for the transportation of bulky equipment, extinguishing media and other goods to supply the fire brigade units employed (for various logistic tasks) and for use as a fire hose vehicle, the crew of which consists of a fire fighting squad (1/5). DIN 14565:1991-03 Fire hose vehicle SW 2000-Tr has already been replaced by the previous standard DIN 14555-22:2005-04, as GW-L2 for logistic tasks has been designed to take over the tasks of transportation and laying of pressure hoses for fire fighting purposes and thus the tasks of fire hose vehicle SW 2000-Tr when using the equipment module "Water supply" according to Table 2. When using equipment module "Dangerous products" according to Table 3, the tasks of transportation of dangerous products equipment of smaller size, and thus the tasks of GW-G for dangerous products, can be taken over by GW-L2 for logistic tasks. The standard DIN 14555-14:1997-10, "Vehicles for tools and gears - Part 14: GW", which had been withdrawn in January 2004, has already been replaced by the previous edition DIN 14555-22:2005-04. In this context a reference is made to the subclauses 6.2 to 6.9 and the specifications in Annex A to Annex D of DIN 14555-12:2005-05 "Vehicles for tools and gears - GW for dangerous products". The adaptation of the measuring technology has been carried out in accordance with Section 10 "Environmental Protection" of the Vereinigung zur Förderung des Deutschen Brandschutzes (vfdb) (German Fire Protection Association (GFPA)); the additional load of the equipment module "Hazardous products" has been updated, as it has been already specified in DIN 14555-12, GW-G for dangerous products. With respect to DIN 14555-22:2005-04 and DIN 14555-22/A1:2007-05, the following changes have been made: a) the first amendment DIN 14555-22/A1:2007-05 has been incorporated, that means the turning radius requirements have been amended and the maximum length of the vehicle has been increased by 300 mm; b) the normative references in Clause 2 have been updated: the new edition DIN EN 1846-2:2010-01 has been added, DIN 14011 has been added for E DIN 14011-9 and DIN 70020-2 which has been withdrawn, has been deleted; c) the definition for GW-L2 for logistic tasks has been rephrased to form one sentence; d) in Table 3 (additional load, equipment module "Hazardous products"), an explosion-proof three-pin plug or an explosion-proof three-pin coupling has also been assigned to the three-wire cable indicated in subclause 6.4 and subclause 6.5; e) in Table 3 (additional load, equipment module "Hazardous products") in the column "Measuring technique" the numbers 8.9 to 8.11 have been replaced the numbers 8.25 to 8.28 of Table 1 from the GW G standard DIN 14555-12:2005-04; f) the bibliography has been updated; g) the contents have been editorially revised. At DIN the Committee responsible for this standard is NA 031-04-07 AA "Sonstige Fahrzeuge" ("Other vehicles").
