Overview

The standard applies to pump water tankers TLF 2000 and specifies additional and/or restrictive type-specific requirements for the general requirements given in DIN EN 1846-2, DIN EN 1846-3 and E DIN 14502-2. Pump water tanker TLF 2000 is a firefighting vehicle with a fire-fighting centrifugal pump driven by the vehicle motor, an installation for quick delivery of water or a hose reel, a fire water reservoir and fire-fighting equipment the crew of which consists of a troop (1/2) and whose task is mainly the provision of water in areas which are difficult to access. Explanations with regard to the new type of pump water tanker, its designation and its tasks: - The vehicle designation has been changed from TLF 8/18 to TLF 2000, as the nation-wide introduction of the digital BOS radio necessitates a uniform and mandatory designation of fire fighting, medical and disaster control vehicles. Every time a connection is established, a data set, the so called operative-tactical address (OPTA), of the radio subscribers is shown in plain text format on the radio displays. Therewith, the digital radio system necessitates that all users/digital end devices have their own unique address (like an IP address on the internet or individual mobile numbers) and every device is clearly identifiable therewith. Consequently, this presumes a uniform system when designating fire fighting, medical and disaster control vehicles. Regarding the allocation of uniform addresses for radios, the BDBOS has decided to use the "Richtlinie für die operativ-taktische Adresse (OPTA) im Digitalfunk der Behörden und Organisationen mit Sicherheitsaufgaben" ("Directive for the digital system operative-tactical address of the authorities and organizations responsible for safety") of the Ausschuss für Informations- und Kommunikationswesen des Arbeitskreises V (Working Committee for information and communication systems of Working Group V) nation-wide as a necessary technical standard and recommends it to the federal states for implementation. - The designation TLF 2000 stands for a pump water tanker with at least 2 000 l fire water capacity (for a particularly compact chassis, a reduction to at least 1 800 l is permissible), an optional, permanently mounted monitor and a total mass of up to 10 000 kg (class L or M according to DIN EN 1846-1 and DIN EN 1846-2). The vehicle crew consists of a troop (1/2). With this pump water tanker, the need for a TLF which is especially suitable to fight forest fires shall also be met. - The TLF 2000 provides the user with a compact pump water tanker. Due to its design, it is especially suitable as the successor for a TLF 8/18. The following amendments have been made with respect to the standard DIN 14530-18:1988-01 which has been withdrawn in 1992-01: a) term and designation have been changed due to the enlarged fire water reservoir and the nation-wide introduction of digital BOS radio; b) content of the fire water reservoir has been increased to a minimum of 2 000 l; c) maximum length, width and height of the vehicle as well as the permissible gross laden mass have been changed; d) validity of the general requirements for firefighting and rescue service vehicles according to DIN EN 1846-2, DIN EN 1846-3 and E DIN 14502-2 has been incorporated; e) requirements for the chassis, structure, driver's compartment, roof and fire-fighting installations have been completely revised; f) reference to the guideline for acceptance tests on delivery according to DIN EN 1846-2:2010-01, Annex G, has been incorporated; g) fire fighting equipment in Table 1 (standard load TLF 2000) has been completely revised; h) additional equipment for forest fires has been incorporated as Table 2; i) load plan has been removed; j) contents and bibliography have been editorially revised; k) DIN 14011-6, DIN 14011-9, DIN 14365-1, DIN 14420-1, DIN 14420-2, DIN 14502-2, DIN 14530-1, DIN 14620, DIN 14817-1, DIN 70020-1, DIN 70020-2, DIN 74054-1, DIN 74056 have been deleted in the normative references and DIN 14330-1, DIN 14330-2, DIN 14420, DIN 14430, E DIN 14502-2:2009-07, DIN 14811, DIN EN 1028-1, DIN EN 1028-2, DIN EN 1846-1, DIN EN 1846-2:2010-01, DIN EN 1846-3, DIN EN 1947 and DIN EN 15182-2 have been incorporated instead. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 031-04-06 AA "Allgemeine Anforderungen an Feuerwehrfahrzeuge - Löschfahrzeuge - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 3" ("General requirements for fire service vehicles - Fire fighting vehicles - Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 3") at DIN.
