DIN 14464:2012-09

This standard has been prepared by Working Committee "Anlagen zur Löschwasserversorgung einschließlich Wandhydranten" ("Installations for supply of water for firefighting including hose systems") (NA 031-03-05 AA) of the Firefighting and Fire Protection Standards Committee (FNFW) at DIN. The standard has been prepared in agreement with Working Committee NA 031-03-03 AA "Wasserlöschanlagen und Bauteile" ("Sprinkler systems and components") of FNFW and the DVGW Deutscher Verein des Gas- und Wasserfaches e. V. (German Technical and Scientific Association for Gas and Water). It is intended to include this standard as a technical rule into the code of practice Water of the DVGW. For the installation of fire fighting and fire protection installations to public drinking water installations, the requirements of DIN 1988-600 apply. The use of direct connection stations in accordance with this standard should take into consideration both fire protection and drinking water hygiene issues. Standards for components for sprinkler and water spray systems are prepared in CEN/TC 191 "Fixed firefighting systems" as the standard series EN 12259.
