This standard has been prepared by NA 053-01-02 AA "Krankenkraftfahrzeuge und deren medizinische und technische Ausstattung" ("Ambulances and its medical and technical equipment") and specifies the dimensions for a uniform maintain system for main stretchers according to DIN EN 1865-1 and in ambulances according to DIN EN 1789. Its purpose is to enable the interchangeability of the main stretcher, usually consisting of stretcher and chassis, according to DIN EN 1865-1. This document does not specify requirements for maintain systems for vehicles and equipment themselves. These are specified in DIN EN 1865-1 and DIN EN 1789.
