The Technical Rules for Pipeline (TRFL) have regulated pipeline operation since 2002. With the new version of the TRFL in 2024, the Committee for Pipelines and the Federal Ministry for the Environment, Nature Conservation and Nuclear Safety (BMUV) have introduced important innovations. Those responsible for pipelines are given a new basis for their work and must adapt to the changed requirements for design and construction, operation, monitoring and quality.
