About this product

Steel construction manual
Design, verifications, examples according to Eurocode 3 of the second generation

The “Stahlbaufibel” (in German only) is a tried and tested standard work that contains the basics of planning and executing structural components. The book offers the specialist audience a clear and descriptive working aid and is available here in the completely revised and expanded 4th edition, which also includes current standardization - including Eurocode 3.

The individual chapters have been supplemented by a large number of practical examples, including information on the elastic critical reistance, trusses, simplified purlin design and plated structural elements. The good structure and the numerous examples make the "Stahlbaufibel" particularly easy to understand and facilitate transfer to your own applications.

The following topics are covered:

  • Principles of verification
  • Cross-section of elements
  • Element stability
  • Fasteners
  • Connections
  • Support
  • Design/design documentation

Companion for working with second-generation Eurocode 3

Since the fall of 2024, the parts of the 2nd generation Eurocodes have been successively published; the new versions of Eurocode 3 are expected from spring 2025. The process of introducting these standards is expected to continue until 2027. Specialists working with Eurocode 3 must adapt thoroughly and in good time to the new requirements resulting from the updates, which are binding.

This book provides the ideal support, as it conveys generally applicable specialist knowledge and was created on the basis of existing drafts for the 2nd generation of Eurocode 3.

The "Stahlbaufibel" provides users with the following information:

  • Fundamental knowledge

  • Illustrations, tables, diagrams
The "Stahlbaufibel" is well organized, with hundreds of illustrations enabling quick reading and a comprehensive understanding of the processes described.
