Eurocodes in their entirety comprise over 5,000 pages — the need to condense them into subject-specific handbooks is understandably high. The present package on actions has reduced the scope to around 1000 pages with the thematically relevant passages. In addition, the sections of the national annexes have been inserted in such a way that their content is obvious at the relevant points.   Parts 1-6 and 1-7 as well as Parts 3 and 4 of DIN EN 1991 contain information on the usual actions during construction and on exceptional actions, supplemented by a document on soil parameters.
   
• Volume 3: Bridge loads — Fundamentals of structural design and actions on bridges
  This volume introduces the basics of structural design in accordance with DIN EN 1990 and also deals with weights, dead weights and live and live loads as well as wind and temperature effects.
