Standardization is essential in the area of doors and windows; product standards and application documents form the basis for smooth production, as well as the planning and execution of doors and windows in construction. This book with about 400 pages gathers together the most important documents on this topic: 6 standards, a corrigendum and one DIN SPEC (DIN Specification). Together, they provide a comprehensive overview of the current state of technology and standardization, as well as the most important requirements for doors and windows.

The product standards cover performance characteristics, while the application documents offer support in the selection of requirements and features as well as the application criteria. In addition, a tri-lingual terminology document is included.

Up-to-date collection of standards for windows and doors

The product standards, the application documents and the terminology together form a unit that can and must be used together in practice. Of the 8 documents included, 4 have been included in this edition for the first time and one has been revised. The new documents are:

• DIN 18055, which implements and supplements the requirements specified in DIN EN 14351-1
• DIN EN 12519, giving terminology on windows and doors in German, English and French
• DIN EN 16034 Corrigendum 1, with a significant change to the self-closing of gates/doors/windows
• DIN SPEC 18105, which contains criteria for the selection of dwelling entrance doors

The 3rd edition is a comprehensive compendium of standards that provides manufacturers and users with an indispensable tool.
