About this product

Technical drawing 2
Mechanical engineering

(Please note: This publication is only available in German.)

The series 2 of the two-volume DIN Taschenbuch “Technisches Zeichnen” contains the relevant standards for basic principles and mechanical drawing. It offers technical draughtspeople as well as students and trainees a valuable working aid that provides the collected knowledge in a compact format. The second part of the series is dedicated to mechanical engineering. In particular, standards from the field of geometrical product specifications can be found here, as well as documents on various types of mechanical connections and the field of kinematics. Information is also included for simplified representation.

There are many new features in this 9th edition of “Technisches Zeichnen 2”: Standards have been revised, replaced or expanded, and a total of thirteen documents are new or updated. The 33 printed documents present specifications and technical drawing expertise at the cutting edge of standardization and technology.

You will find the following subject areas in “Technisches Zeichnen 2 – Mechanische Technik“:

  • form and position tolerancing
  • surface information
  • datum systems
  • adhesive, fold and pressed joints
  • hardening, annealing, quenching and tempering
  • welding, soldering
  • springs
  • representation for kinematics
  • simplified representations

The 9th edition of “Technisches Zeichnen 2 - Mechanische Technik” contains an index of the standards printed in DIN-Taschenbuch 2/1.

Up-to-date knowledge of mechanical drawing

Technical drawing in mechanical engineering is of particular importance: It describes mechanical processes, in particular manufacturing processes, and has a whole series of relevant standards of its own. These are collected in “Technisches Zeichnen 2 – Mechanische Technik” and offer a wealth of up-to-date knowledge in this 9th edition with the following changes:

  • 5 newly included standards
DIN EN ISO 21920-1 replaces the former DIN EN ISO 1302 for the specification of surface quality in technical product documentation and is therefore available for the first time in this collection; Part 2 and Part 3 of the series of standards, which are also printed here for the first time, represent a useful addition to Part 1. DIN EN ISO 22018 with tolerances for geometric elements in accordance with the ISO GPS system has also been newly included and further, more specific information is provided by the new DIN 2769.

  • 8 revised standards
Significant additions and revisions have been made to the content of DIN EN ISO 1101 on geometrical tolerancing, for example. DIN EN ISO 5459 on datums and datum systems has been fundamentally revised; the basic standard DIN EN ISO 8015 has been technically revised. DIN ISO 15787 has also been significantly revised: A lot of new data and information has been included here and values have been changed.

Thanks to the index, working with the 800-page book is easy.
