About this product

Tool clamps
Clamping devices

(Please note: This publication is only available in German.)

Drills, countersinks, cutting, turning and milling tools: They are all safer and more efficient when used in conjunction with tool clamps. Tool clamps are therefore an integral part of modern production. The DIN handbook 14 “Tool clamps - Clamping devices” provides a large number of standards across almost 800 pages. The popular and proven DIN handbook is now available in its 13th edition and offers everything you want to know about tool clamps in just 79 documents and is an indispensable aid in professional practice due to its compact form and the wide range that it covers. The standards deal with the following topics:

  • Basic standards for tool clamps
  • Tool clamps for drills, countersinks, reamers, threading tools
  • Tool clamps for turning and milling tools
  • Tool clamps for grinding tools

In addition, the DIN handbook contains 14 supplementary standards from the following areas:

  • Machine tools
  • Mechanical engineering
  • Material testing
  • Length and shape

In addition, “Tool clamps — Clamping devices” contains a list of relevant ISO standards that have not been adopted into the German body of standards.

Extensive collection of current documents on clamping tools

The DIN Standards Committee Tools and Clamping Devices (FWS) works continuously to ensure that the published documents that it is responsible for are up to date and relevant. The changes resulting from technical developments and other changed conditions are reflected in revised, withdrawn and new standards. The 13th edition of “Tool clamps — Clamping fixtures” contains two new standards and twelve revised documents. The changes include:

  • Updated standards
There are now new editions of DIN 1835 Parts 1 and 2 on cylindrical shanks: Tables and images have been adapted and a new form has been added. In DIN 509 on relief grooves, there is a completely new annex for entering dimensions, and in DIN 69893-5 on hollow taper shanks, three new value tables have been added. These and many other updates are essential for working with the relevant standards.

  • New standards
With DIN 8816 on tool adaptor in woodworking, “Tool clamps — Clamping devices” now contains the combined standard of the old version of the standard and Part 2 of the standard, which was withdrawn in 2007. The brand new DIN 69882-9 on axial adjusting screws, which was published in 2021, fills an important gap in the field of tool holders.

The 13th edition of DIN handbook 14 is an essential collection for standardization in the field of clamping devices. Together with the DIN handbook 151, the new 6th edition of which is also being published in parallel, it covers the entire range of relevant documents in this specialist area.

The index makes it easier to work with the comprehensive collection of standards.
