The “Wastewater engineering” series of DIN handbooks currently consists of six volumes of topics such as sewage units, shafts and channels, planning and operation and much more and are very popular due to their well-considered compilation. Volume 5 in the series deals with pipes and fittings for sewers and buried wastewater pipes. In this 6th edition of the book, there have been many changes: seven of the 23 documents included have been added since the previous edition, particularly in the field of sealing technology.

The book supports planners and practitioners in selecting the right pipe systems for installations and is a valuable aid for companies and authorities.

Up-to-date compendium of standards for wastewater technology

“Wastewater Technology 5” provides practitioners and manufacturers alike with a handy and comprehensive compendium reflecting state-of-the-art technology and standardization. There have been significant changes since the 5th edition of the collection of standards, including:

• 8 newly included standards
  The DIN EN 681 series of standards for elastomeric seals currently comprises four parts and a Corrigendum (DIN EN 681-1 Cor. 1), all of which are now to be found in this collection. The standards deal with material requirements for pipework seals. The newly revised DIN EN 14758-1 on plastic piping systems has also been included.
• 3 revised standards
  In addition to the newly added documents, DIN Handbook 13/5 also provides three revised standards, including the thoroughly updated DIN EN 476 “General requirements for components used in drains and sewers”, in which paragraphs on manholes and inspection chambers have been completely rewritten and a new paragraph on the reaction to fire has been added.

“Wastewater Technology 5” also contains an index of non-printed standards and draft standards as well as a detailed index.
