The global market for additive manufacturing in 2024 is estimated to be worth almost 30 billion US dollars - an enormous sum that underlines the importance of this relatively new technology. Additive manufacturing knowledge in one volume

The rapid development of additive manufacturing and the importance it has now gained for many sectors of the economy is also reflected in the intensive standardization work. The dynamics of the sector are also reflected in the frequency with which changes to the relevant documents have become necessary: This 2nd edition of DIN/DVS Taschenbuch 419 contains a total of fourteen revised standards - almost half of the documents collected here. DIN EN ISO/ASTM 52943-2 has been newly included, which contains information on additive manufacturing in aerospace applications.

This 2nd edition of “Additive Fertigung metallischer Werkstoffe“ provides:

  All five parts of the DIN EN ISO/ASTM 52926 series of standards on the principles of qualification are available in their updated versions from March 2024. DIN EN ISO/ASTM 52902 on test artefacts has been supplemented by a new test artefact and drawings; DIN EN ISO/ASTM 52904 on process requirements has been restructured and expanded; DIN EN ISO/ASTM 52927 on the main characteristics and corresponding test methods includes the August 2024 edition of ASTM F3122-14 and merges it with the former ISO 17296-3 standard. Many other important changes have been made to further documents.
