Overview

In addition to the interface (short form in German: SZVD) defined in this pre-standard, DIN SPEC 91213-1 and DIN SPEC 91213-2 (OTS 2) provide another offer with various approaches regarding protocol, data model and scope for traffic data transmission in the environment of central components. The intentional aim of both approaches is to exchange traffic data between centres and subcentres or subsystems (for example, parking data, environmental data, video data, light system signal data). Both protocols provide the general possibility of also exchanging data with the field level (for example, sign control). This pre-standard applies to systems of road traffic technology. The scope covers all subareas of traffic management and traffic control, primarily in the municipal sector. It describes an "interface between central components for the exchange of traffic-related data" and contains provisions for the protocol and data structures. This pre-standard is applicable to entire systems and to subsystems and equipment within an overall system. The responsible committee is Subcommittee UK 713.3 "Straßenverkehrs-Signalanlagen" ("Road traffic signal systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
