Overview

This prestandard applies to staff protection systems using public telecommunication networks (PNA-11). It includes the minimum requirements for the construction, functionality and test procedures of devices for such staff protection systems. Requirements for the construction and equipment of radio staff protection systems for hazardous lone working are specified in DIN VDE V 0825-1 (VDE V 0825-1). In contrast to this, requirements for the construction and equipment of radio staff protection systems using public telecommunications networks (PNA-11) are described in this prestandard. The task of a staff protection system (PNA-11) is to summon help immediately for persons in distress when working alone by triggering and transmitting voluntary and voluntary-independent personal alarms and, in an emergency, to establish an additional voice connection. The personal alarm is transmitted wirelessly to a receiving device (EE). The responsible committee is DKE/UK 713.1 "Gefahrenmelde- und Überwachungsanlagen" ("Alarm and surveillance systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
