The task of a staff protection system (PNA) is to directly call for help for persons in need during dangerous lone work by activating and transmitting deliberate and automatic personal alarms. These personal alarms are transmitted by radio to a staff protection system switchboard (PNEZ). The preliminary standard is not applicable for alarm systems according to the DIN EN 5013X (VDE 0830) standard series, alarm systems according to the DIN VDE 0833(VDE 0833) standard series and calls systems according to the DIN VDE standard series. This preliminary standard replaces non-state and non-union work protection provisions as well as other requirements for personal protection. The responsible committee is DKE/K 713.1 "Gefahrenmelde- und Überwachungsanlagen" ("Alarm and surveillance systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
