Short description
Advanced infrared measuring systems are used, among other things, by energy supply companies, in industrial and production companies as well as infrastructure systems for checking energy transmission and energy distribution systems. The standard is primarily aimed at maintenance workers in the field of electrical systems and thermographers who carry out examinations in electrical systems. The standard is intended to provide an overview of the areas of application, the principles and the implementation of the procedure. In addition, the evaluation of the measurements carried out and the documents to be created as well as their necessary content are discussed.Inexpensive infrared measuring systems are available today that are easy and uncomplicated to operate, although evaluating the images requires thermographic knowledge. The checks are usually carried out by the maintenance departments themselves or outsourced to service providers. The standard provides an overview of the areas of application and the basics. Measurements within control cabinets can provide information on the professional construction and/or the ideal arrangement of active and passive components and their optimal interaction. Here, unfavorable component spacing or incorrect airflow can lead to overheating and thus to system failure, especially with regard to the effects of air currents in connection with air conditioning components.
