Short description
This standard specifies a method for measuring the bulk deposition of PCDD/F (polychlorinated dibenzo-p-dioxins/polychlorinated dibenzofurans) and PCB (polychlorinated biphenyls). All seventeen 2,3,7,8-substituted PCDD/F congeners are measured. In addition, all other congeners of the tetra- to hepta-chlorinated PCDD/Fs can be determined. From this, the sums of the respective chlorine homologue groups (homologue group sums) can be calculated and from this, in turn, the total sum of the tetra- to octaCDD/F (homologue sum). The six indicator PCBs and all dioxin-like PCBs for which TEF values have been set are also determined. Furthermore, all congeners of the tri- to decaPCBs can be determined. From this, the respective sums of the chlorine homologue groups can be calculated and from this, in turn, the total sum of all tri- to decaPCBs. The standard is aimed at experts, consultants and the like, non-governmental organizations, the public sector, environmental protection agencies, consumer protection agencies, industry, science and research.
