Short description
Air pollutants can accumulate in plants and ecosystems through deposition. As a permanent crop, grassland is exposed to immissions all year round. If it is used for grazing or mowing, pollutants can be absorbed by livestock directly and/or by humans via the food chain and cause damage. Whether such immission effects are relevant, for example for ecotoxicological or feed law reasons, can be clarified by analysing the above ground biomass of grassland. This standard describes the standardised sampling of above ground biomass of grassland in order to be able to identify and assess the effects of air pollutants.
