Short description
This standard specifies methods for demonstrating the continuous effective operation of dust collectors in solid fuel combustion plants with a rated thermal input between 1 MW and less than 5 MW. It is applicable to dust collectors with surface or electrostatic precipitators. It describes monitoring concepts that can be used to demonstrate the continuous effective operation of dust collectors. The monitoring concepts are based on direct verification with dust measuring instruments or indirect verification by checking substitute parameters in the case of electrostatic dust collectors. This standard further specifies requirements for the verification of the monitoring concept by bodies according to § 29b BImSchG. This includes a check of the proper implementation of the monitoring concept and a regular functional check by which the proper functioning of the selected monitoring concept is ensured. This standard also specifies requirements for data acquisition and evaluation systems (DAHS) for the acquisition of status signals of the operation of the combustion plant and the dust collector and for the calculation, storage and output of the required data to prove the continuous effective operation of dust collectors. In addition, this standard specifies requirements for regular quality assurance measures by the operator and for documentation. This standard is primarily intended for operators and manufacturers of the above-mentioned combustion plants, for manufacturers of corresponding dust separators, for bodies according to § 29b BImSchG and for authorities responsible for monitoring these plants.
