The purpose of this Technical Specification is to be able to better compare, by using examples, hydraulic cutting devices for fire and rescue service use according to DIN EN 13204 with respect to their classification and performance. An alternative opportunity for comparison according to the American Standard ANSI/NFPA 1936:2010, Standard on Powered Rescue Tools, containing a differentiation of information on the sharpness according to the various steel profiles is therefore included. This enables a more individual comparison of devices, as the classification according to DIN EN 13204 is oriented to the weakest steel profile sharpness. This DIN SPEC shall be taken into consideration during the next revision of DIN EN 13204. For this purpose, particularly the differentiation of the information on sharpness in accordance with the various steel profiles analogous to the American standard ANSI/NFPA 1936:2010, Standard on Powered Rescue Tools considered advantageous from the German point of view has been proposed by Germany. A DIN specification (DIN SPEC) according to the Technical Report procedure contains, in the form of an assessment report, knowledge, data, etcetera, from or to standardization projects which serve the purpose of providing information on the state of standardization - also of other (international and regional standardization organizations) - and which can be used as the basis for later standardization work. Technical reports serve for securing of data and knowledge once gained by documenting the work results of the standardization work which shall not be published as DIN standards or DIN SPEC, according to the pre-standard procedure. The committee responsible for this DIN specification (DIN SPEC) is NA 031-04-10 AA "Rettungsgeräte - SpA zu CEN/TC 192/WG 7" ("Rescue tools - Mirror Committee of CEN/TC 192/WG 7") at DIN.
