Overview

This Interpretation Sheet is intended to remove ambiguity regarding the application of torque in the tensile test according to Annex A of DIN EN 60079-0 (VDE 0170-1):2013-04. Thus, this supplement clarifies issues which are interpreted by manufacturers and testing bodies in different ways when interpreting the standard. The responsible Committee is DKE/K 241 "Schlagwetter- und explosionsgeschützte elektrische Betriebsmittel" ("Electrical apparatus for potentially explosive atmospheres") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
