This standard is a product standard for connectors. The committee responsible for the standard is NA 140-00-14-01 UA "Steckverbinder und Steckvorrichtungen" ("Electrical connectors and plug-and-socket devices") of the Electrical Engineering Standards Committee (NE) at DIN. This standard is valid in connection with VG 95319-2, VG 96937-2 and VG 96937-3 for battery connectors without protective contact and protection against electric-shock hazard. Part 1 of the VG 96937 standard series describes general technical-organizational requirements, tests, qualification criteria and quality assurance measures for the battery connectors according to VG 96937-3. Connectors in accordance with this standard are subject to qualification testing in accordance with VG 95211.
