The purpose of this document is to promote the use of a common terminology and useful symbols and to encourage users and manufacturers of fluidic devices and systems to conform to meaningful standards of performance. This document is intended for use as the basis for a procurement specification for fluidic devices and systems when the need for such a specification arises. This document shall be the starting point for future SAE documents, either through revision or addition, in the field of fluidics as such documents become necessary.
