Overview

Double eyes according to this standard are used preferably for overhead electrical lines and switchgears and controlgears with nominal system voltages exceeding AC 1 kV and DC 1,5 kV. Designs C to E are mainly used in networks above 45 kV. The standard differs from DIN 48069-1:1977-09 and DIN 48069-2:1980-10 as follows: a) the two parts of the standard have been combined. b) marking, requirements, tests, hot-dip galvanizing and references have been updated. c) a non-destructive test on each component has been introduced. d) Table 1 and Table 2: The rated short-time currents have been adapted to the usual switchgear values. e) the unit weights have been omitted. f) Table 1: The sizes for bolts 16 have been added. g) Table 2: the sizes for bolts 25, 28 and 32 have been added. The responsible committee is DKE/K 421 "Freileitungen" ("Overhead lines") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
