Hinges according to this standard are used preferably for overhead electrical lines and switchgears and controlgears with nominal system voltages exceeding AC 1 kV and DC 1,5 kV. Type A is preferably used as a suspension joint and type B is preferably used as a bracing joint. The standard differs from DIN 48066-1:1975-05 and DIN 48066-2:1975-05 as follows: a) the two parts of the standard have been combined. b) marking, requirements, tests, hot-dip galvanizing and references have been updated. c) joints of the forms AN and BN have been deleted without replacement. At the same time, the shape designations AS have been changed to A and BS to B. d) an angle for the minimum movement of the connection fittings has been introduced. e) the geometry of the shape B joints has been changed and a washer has been introduced as a support. f) Table 1 and Table 2: - as the values for SMFL and the connection dimensions in accordance with DIN VDE 0212-474 (VDE 0212-474) shall be observed, the material thicknesses (s) and the fork depth (e2) are no longer listed. - the specified minimum failure forces and the rated short-time currents have been adapted to the double eyes. - tolerances for dimensions b and e have been changed. - further pin sizes have been added. g) Table 1: dimension b has been adjusted for the joint sizes. h) Table 2: - dimension c has been added. - The sizes (h) 220, 240 and 260 have been added to the joints with pin 19/19. i) The unit weights have been omitted. The responsible committee is DKE/K 421 "Freileitungen" ("Overhead lines") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
