This standard contains the German translation of the International Standard ISO 8216-99:2002, which has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 28 "Petroleum products and lubricants" (secretariat: API/ANSI, USA). The responsible national Committee is Working Committee NA 062-06-34 AA "Anforderungen an Heizöle und Schifffahrtsbrennstoffe" ("Requirements for fuel oils and marine fuels") at the Petroleum, Fuels, Lubricants and Related Products Standardization Committee (FAM) of the Materials Testing Standards Committee (NMP). The standard specifies a general system of classification which applies to petroleum fuels designated by the prefix letter "F".
This document replaces DIN ISO 8216-0:1991-09 .
