Overview

DIN ISO 16900-4 specifies the test method for determining gas capacity of separate or integral gas and combined filters for respiratory protective systems. It includes the validation test at specified flow rates, a desorption test to access the ability of the filter to retain the adsorbed or absorbed gas, and carbon monoxide dynamic testing. The standard serves as a supplement to the specific standards for respiratory protective systems. The specified test methods apply to complete systems or parts of systems. If deviations from the test methods specified in DIN ISO 16900-4 are necessary, then these deviations are specified in the respective requirement standard. DIN Standards Committee Optics and Precision Mechanics (NAFuO), Working Committee NA 027-02-04 AA "Atemgeräte für Arbeit und Rettung", Arbeitskreis "Filter" ("Occupational respiratory protective devices"), Working Group "Filters" is responsible for the preparation of DIN ISO 16900-4.
