This part of International Standard ISO 10362 specifies a method for the gas-chromatographic determination of water in cigarette smoke condensates. The smoking of cigarettes and collection of mainstream smoke are normally carried out in accordance with ISO 4387. However, the method described in this part of ISO 10362 is also applicable to the determination of water in smoke condensates obtained by non-standard smoking. Working Committee NA 057-04-01 AA "Tabak und Tabakerzeugnisse" ("Tobacco and tobacco products") of the responsible German body involved in the preparation of this standard, the Food and Agricultural Products Standards Committee (NAL) at DIN, decided to supplement DIN ISO 10362-1 published in 2000 by adding the amendment of ISO 10362-1. The Working Committee made its decision in particular from the point of view of a necessary harmonization of the international and national standards in the field of smoke analysis. The amendments are indicated by a vertical line in the left margin. The committee responsible for this standard is NA 057-04-01 AA "Tabak und Tabakerzeugnisse" ("Tobacco and tobacco products") at DIN.
