This International Standard specifies a method for the gas-chromatographic determination of nicotine in cigarette smoke condensates. The smoking of cigarettes and the collection of mainstream smoke are normally carried out in accordance with ISO 4387. The method specified in this standard is also applicable to the determination of nicotine in cigarette smoke condensates obtained by non-standard smoking. This document (ISO 10315:2013) has been prepared by Technical Committee ISO/TC 126 "Tobacco and tobacco products", the secretariat of which is held by DIN (Germany). After revision of the second edition, the third edition of International Standard ISO 10315 was initially published in 2013. This edition was corrected in 2014 and published as a consolidated version. The consolidated version continues to carry the issue date 2013. The responsible national standardization committee is Working Committee NA 057-04-01 AA "Tabak und Tabakerzeugnisse" ("Tobacco and tobacco products") at DIN Standards Committee Food and Agricultural Products (NAL).
