DIN EN ISO 19715:2017-08

This standard specifies requirements and test methods for filling instruments that are used intraorally to insert and shape filling materials in a tooth cavity, and includes single-use items. It includes instruments used to place and contour non-metallic direct restorative materials. This standard describes a specific design with the contra-angle handpiece, which is suitable for fatigue-free working. This standard has been prepared by ISO/TC 106/SC 4/WG 8 "Dental hand instruments" (secretariat: ANSI, USA), in collaboration with CEN/TC 55 "Dentistry" (secretariat: DIN). At DIN the responsible Working Committee is NA 014-00-23 AA "Dentalmedizinische Instrumente" ("Dental medical instruments"). The standard specifies requirements and test methods for the materials used, the maximum permissible total length, surface polish, and resistance to reprocessing. The required labeling information (for example, batch number) is also specified.
