Overview

This standard specifies a methodology for cross-mapping technical vocabularies that have been adopted by an industry-specific geospatial community. This standard also specifies the implementation of DIN EN ISO 19135 for the registration of geographic information concepts for the purpose of integrating multiple domain-based vocabularies. Methodologies for the development of ontologies and taxonomies that relate to geographic information and geomatics are not within the scope of this standard. The Committee responsible for this standard is NA 005-03-03 AA "Kartographie und Geoinformation (Sp CEN/TC 287+ISO/TC 211)" ("Cartography and geographic information (Mirror Committee CEN/TC 287+ISO/TC 211)") at DIN.
