The standard DIN EN ISO 15148 specifies a method for determining, by partial immersion with no temperature gradient, the short-term liquid water absorption coefficient. It is used to assess the intensity of water absorption due to capillary forces during prolonged sprinkling or driving rain, even in the unusual case during unprotected storage of insulation or other building materials at the construction site or during the construction phase. The method is suitable for renders or coatings tested in conjunction with the substrate on which they are normally mounted. It is not intended to assess the absorption of water by materials used under water or in overall contact with saturated ground. For these cases, full immersion testing is more appropriate. The document contains the modified Table 1, where the values of temperature and relative humidity have been adjusted. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 005-56-99 AA "Feuchte (SpA zu CEN/TC 89/WG 10, ISO/TC 163/SC 1/WG 8)" ("Moisture (national mirror committee for CEN/TC 89/WG 10, ISO/TC 163/SC 1/WG 8)") at DIN Standards Committee Building and Civil Engineering (NaBau).
