Overview

This International Standard provides a safe and reproducible procedure for calibrating the wavelength and power output of a tuneable laser against reference instrumentation such as optical power meters and optical wavelength meters (including optical frequency meters) that have been traceably calibrated previously. The standard provides safety to manufacturers and testing laboratories for the definition of testing and serves as a quality assurance reference. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.2 "Komponenten für Kommunikationskabelanlagen" ("Components for communication cabling systems") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
