Overview

Based on the general provisions of IEC 62246-1, this standard specifies test procedures for reed switches where enhanced requirements for the verification of quality assessment specification apply. It describes sampling and test schedules for qualification approval procedures, quality conformance inspection, formation of inspection lots and intervals between tests. Mercury wetted reed switches are not covered by this standard due to their possible environmental impact. The responsible committee is DKE/K 671 "Schaltrelais" ("Relays") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
