Overview
This part of the IEC 61300 series describes a procedure to determine the suitability of a cord to withstand bending around a mandrel of the sort to be applied during normal use. This test is only applied to single fibre cables and multiple fibre circular cables. It is not applicable to ribbon cables. This standard is directed at manufacturers, users and testing institutes and provides investment security and detailed test methods. The responsible committee is DKE/UK 412.7 "LWL-Verbindungstechnik und passive optische Komponenten" ("Fibre optic interconnecting devices and passive components") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
