DIN EN 60987:2015-06

DIN EN 60987 (VDE 0491-3-1) covers the hardware of digital systems in systems of classes 1 and 2 as derived from the safety categories of the functions they implement according to DIN EN 61513 (VDE 0491-2). This includes distributed multiprocessor systems and single processor systems, including the assessment and use of prefabricated units (for example, products available on the market) and the development of new hardware. This new edition replaces DIN EN 60987 (VDE 0491-3-1):2010-03 The essential change is that it updates the references in the national foreword and specifies the short and rather general Clause 9 "Manufacturing" by the following Subclauses: 9 Manufacturing, 9.1 Quality management, 9.2 Training of personnel, 9.3 Planning and organisation of the manufacturing activities, 9.4 Input data, 9.5 Purchasing and procurement, 9.5.1 Purchasing and procurement process, 9.5.2 Purchasing process of commercially available components, 9.5.3 Procurement process of parts used in the I&C equipment, 9.5.4 Verification of purchased product, 9.6 Production, 9.6.1 Control of production, 9.6.2 Specification and control of production environmental conditions, 9.6.3 Validation of processes for production, 9.6.4 Assessment of the manufactured I&C equipment acceptance and reproducibility, 9.6.5 Control of production tools, monitoring and measuring devices, 9.6.6 Identification and traceability, 9.6.7 Preservation of product, 9.6.8 Sustainability of tools and skills. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 967.1 "Leittechnik für kerntechnische Anlagen" ("Instrumentation for nuclear facilities") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
