This part of DIN EN 60793 contains special requirements for multimode fibres of category A3 with its sub-categories A3a, A3b, A3c, A3d and A3e supplementing the general requirements of DIN EN 60793-2. These fibres are used in different information transmission equipment, other applications employing similar light transmitting techniques and fibre optic cables. The responsible committee is Subcommittee DKE/UK 412.6 "Lichtwellenleiter und Lichtwellenleiterkabel" ("Fibres and cables") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
