Overview

This standard contains the necessary information regarding the shield of the connector for 8-way free and fixed connectors. It specifies dimensions, mechanical, electrical and environmental characteristics and tests, in relation to the shield, additional to those in IEC 60603-7, and shall be used as the base document for all shielded connectors in the IEC 60603-7 series. These connectors are intermateable and interoperable with other IEC 60603-7 series connectors as defined in the IEC 60603-7 series. The responsible committee is K 651 "Steckverbinder" ("Connector") of the DKE (German Commission for Electrical, Electronic and Information Technologies) at DIN and VDE.
