DIN EN 4701-003:2013-08

The EN 4701 standard series describes different modular optical connectors for aerospace onboard applications at an operating temperature of 125 °C. The optical connectors of this family are derived from EN 4165-001 and are intended for exchangeable optical modules and contacts in accordance with EN 4531. They facilitate easy access for cleaning the endface of the optical contacts. This part 003 specifies the characteristics of module series 2 for EN 4531-101 optical termini, in the family of rectangular, modular, connector EN 4165. The standards of the EN 4701 series have been prepared by ASD-STAN, Technical Section Electrical, Avionics, with the participation of German experts of the Aerospace Standards Committee. The European Committee for Standardization (CEN) declared the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe (ASD-STAN) responsible for the preparation of European standards (EN) for the field of aerospace. ASD became the associated body (ASB) of CEN by the agreement dated 1986-10-03. The responsible German standardization committee is Working Committee NA 131-04-10 AA "LWL und LWL-Komponenten" ("Fibre optic cables and components") of the Aerospace Standards Committee at DIN.
